Starting with an old stereo reel-to-reel and a couple of second-hand dynamic microphones, Lou began his production and engineering career absorbing and testing the ideas from every magazine, seminar, and instructional manual that he could find. Later he enrolled in instruction and enjoyed everything audio, with a huge passion for the finest of microphones and analogue gear. It does make a difference!!

Initially learning the recording arts to document his own songs, he eventually expanded by offering his services to musicians in Calgary, Edmonton, and elsewhere, including many recipients of FACTOR and other grants.

In his decades of experience writing, recording, and producing music, he’s learned that nothing feels better or is more rewarding than making a good song, sound great.
